hello friends,
people keep asking me if there are some "stare" cd´s out there. well, we decided against the cd in this case, knowing that most of you (including me) usually just import the cd on a computer and never look at the cd again. cd sales went down 25% the last year and i visited the cd´s grave in budapest. so yes, the cd will die. it is sad really, but just how it is.
i am doing mastering and really care about sound when it comes to music production, so please consider:
playing music out of your computer speakers from sound cloud is not really ideal. there are many things missing due, bad speakers, mp3 compression and all. the musicians worked hard to make a nice mix of their music, just so that people never hear all the details hidden in the music.
30 years ago, our daddys bought expensive stereo systems in order to impress your mamas with their great sounding records. those days are over. a lot of people don't even have a stereo system anymore. bummer!
my advise:
buy a vinyl player, some old amplifier and some speakers and start collecting vinyl. the best way listening to music since many decades. vinyls are wonderful and will be your new best friend. they sound, feel and look incredible.
please don't let sonic joy disappear. spinning a great sounding vinyl at home and really listening to it is the most amazing thing and will make your day(s) on planet earth even more rewarding.
the cd might die, mp3´s are very sad little bastards
vinyls will always be there.
love to you and your ears,
nils
