Making an unlikely appearance on Kompakt, Sigur Ros present remixed versions of the lead track from their most recent album. First up is the Gluteus Maximus remix, which introduces itself via a protracted flow of isolated harmonised vocals and fluid currents of ambient sound. Eventually, the inevitable 4/4 house beat shows up and the remainder of the production is a highly effective, carefully sculpted percussive affair, only letting the occasional glimmer of vocals into earshot. The other mix slows down the urgency levels but represents a more even-handed infusion of the original materials with electronic beat programming.
